Attendance
Seminary Dates:
1st Semester – Monday August 17th – Friday December 11th
2nd Semester – Tuesday January 5th – Friday May 7th
Seminary Graduation – Sunday May 16th
*Seminary will not be held on any day that school is not in session.
Graduation Requirements
- 75% attendance
- Complete all of the required readings
- Take an assessment
Required Student Reading
We encourage all seminary students to have a personal scripture reading goal as we study each course.
Students will also read the selected scripture passages each term. The required reading includes pages from the book of scripture for each course. These pages have been carefully selected because of their doctrinal depth and richness.
Online Old Testament Canvas Lessons
- Online class attendance includes : 4 online lessons per week PLUS one in-person class on Wednesday night at the Katy Stake Center 8:15pm-9:15pm
- Online lessons for the online class as well as make-up lessons for all seminary students should include all of the "Questions to Answer" sections as well as questions from bullet-points found throughout the lesson. Each make-up lesson should reflect 45 minutes worth of work.

Welcome to Online Seminary for the Katy Texas Stake! The Online teachers for this year will be Sister Mecham from the Nottingham Ward and Sister Ramsey from the Jordan Ranch Ward. This video walks you through what you need to know for Online Seminary this semester. Please view the video and let us know if you have any questions or if there’s anything we can do to help.
A FEW KEY POINTS:
Online Seminary starts Monday August 17th. We will meet on Wednesdays in the Relief Society room at the Katy Stake Center room 8:15-9:15 PM.
Seminary will be in the same time and place every Wednesday while school is in session.
The online portion can be accessed by going to silearn.churchofjesuschrist.org. Sign in with your church username and password. Just complete the lessons for the weeks we are in Seminary. If you come to the in-person class, you will only need to complete 4 online lessons a week.
There will also be some required readings. This video (not made by me) will walk you through how to record those (you may also tell us and we can record them).

Assessment & Doctrinal Mastery
Assessment
The Learning Assessment will move from an individual assessment to a group review. Students who are absent on the day of the assessment may take it on their own, with others, or with their teacher.
Credit is given when the assessment is returned to the teacher.
